Pet Photography Weekend with Kristopher Rutherford

Friday, September 18, 6-8 PM | By Donation | Calliope Creative

Kristopher Rutherford is a cinematographer who has worked on documentary projects in more than 40 countries. Outside of his film work, he turns his camera on the people and animals around him, with a particular focus on pets. As he puts it himself, he's not a "smile and look at the camera" photographer, he's a "life moves pretty fast" photographer, chasing the small, real moments instead of posed ones.

On Friday, September 18, Kristopher will lead this class at Calliope Creative covering:

  • Why he got into pet photography in the first place

  • What he was trying to accomplish with this style of work

  • How he approaches working with animals, including the story of a college film professor who once told him to never work with animals

  • His actual on-set workflow

**All proceeds from the class support the Through the Lens: Mobile Youth Photography Program**

Saturday: Pet Photography Minis at Calliope Creative
20-minute pet photography mini sessions with Kristopher, $250 per session. Follow Kristopher on Instagram to see more of his portfolio.

Sunday: Horse Portraits at the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds
Pricing to be announced.

Who should take this class:

Pet owners, animal lovers, and anyone who wants to photograph the animals in their life with more intention, from total beginners to photographers ready to get more technical.

What to bring:
