Because Calliope Creative is officially alive and moving and full of people and ideas and cameras and laughter and I honestly cannot believe it sometimes.
So if you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to, or what this space actually is, or why I keep talking about it… let me catch you up.
Welcome to Calliope Creative
Calliope Creative is a photography studio, a learning space, and a creative home right here in Walla Walla.
It’s where people come to learn photography without feeling weird about it.
It’s where creatives show up to make things again.
It’s where beginners, professionals, artists, and curious humans all cross paths.
It’s hands on.
It’s welcoming.
It’s built for real people who want to learn and create without pressure.
And honestly? It’s become the exact space I wish existed when I was first learning.
Photography Classes That Feel Like Actual Learning
I teach photography the way I wish I had been taught. By doing it HANDS ON.

We offer in person photography classes in Walla Walla for every level, from “I just got this camera and I’m confused” to “I’m ready to shoot more intentionally and maybe even professionally.”

One of my favorite classes to teach is our phone photography workshop because it changes how people see their everyday photos almost instantly.

The Studio (aka My Happy Place)
Calliope Creative is also a fully equipped photography studio that photographers can rent for their own work.
It has:
• Professional lighting
• Multiple backdrop options
• Monthly rotating sets
• Space for portraits, branding, and creative shoots
• A vibe that feels calm and welcoming
Photographers use the studio for client sessions, content days, mini sessions, portfolio work, and creative experiments.
You don’t need to bring everything with you.
You don’t need to overthink it.
You just show up and create.

Every month, the studio changes.

Art of the Muse
Art of the Muse is a semi-private community salon held at Calliope Creative.
Here we will have artists working in many mediums on a curated set for the sake of artistic expression and artistic development. Each month we will explore a theme, the way light behaves, and the movement of the human body. Line, Shape, Form, and above all, respectful collaboration.
Calliope Creative is a space where artists come to find their muse, their next inspiration. When we surround ourselves with other artists who are mutually exploring their own thread of art, it is inevitable that we learn and grow in our own creations.
Art of the Muse follows the spirit of the Life Art Drawing classes many of us loved, though with its own personality. Instead of stillness, our Muse moves. A trained model who understands presence and shape, shifting through the set as the light wraps and bends. You can photograph. You can sketch. You can write. You can simply sit in the corner with ink and parchment, and let the tide carry you toward a new idea.
Art of the Muse will be an invitation only ticketed event. This keeps the circle intentional and protects the kind of trust that creative work needs. If someone brings a new artist into the room, they are vouching for that person with their own ability to return. Safety and privacy are part of the foundation of Calliope Creative.
This is an inclusive space. A steady space. A place where every person deserves to feel welcome. Creative work asks for vulnerability. We protect that together.
The Scholarship Program
This part matters a lot to me. Like, low-key it’s a foundation piece of my humanity.
Every class and workshop at Calliope Creative includes a scholarship seat. Always.
We believe that creativity should never be limited by finances. Every class, course, and ticketed event we offer has a scholarship seat reserved for someone who would otherwise be unable to attend. This is one of our core commitments to equity, inclusion, and community care.
The scholarship fund is one way we make sure that Calliope Creative remains a place of access, belonging, and joy.
